The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at the University of Iowa is a student chapter of the international ACM organization. Our goal is to promote computing for students in a fun and friendly environment. We hold weekly meetings on campus, as well as several large events throughout the year. All of our activities are put on by and for the students, with help from the UIowa Computer Science department, which sponsors our organization.
Our weekly meetings cover a variety of content such as tech talks, resume workshops, academic and career planning sessions, programming practice sessions, and more! A copy of our constitution can be found here, and our bylaws can be found here.
Some of our larger events in past years have included:
- Informative speakers from the University and other businesses
- Computer Science Socials
- The UI Computing Conference (UICC)
- The Hawkeye Challenge (smaller computing conference involving programming challenges for high school students)
We announce meeting dates on our website, our mailing list, and our Discord. Feel free to join us at any of our events!
